Balham, London SW12 — Wrap – Around Extension & Renovation.

Planetium delivered a full wrap-around extension and ground floor renovation to this Victorian terraced house in Balham, transforming the layout into a bright, open-plan living space while restoring the character of the original facade through careful renovation and decoration.

The project involved significant structural work, including temporary works installation, structural steel beams, and a crank beam to open up the rear and side return. London stock brickwork was left exposed internally, adding warmth and texture that contrasts with the clean, contemporary finish elsewhere in the space. A full mechanical and electrical upgrade included underfloor heating throughout the extension, while a bespoke kitchen and island, along with bespoke shelving, were designed to make the most of the new footprint. Rooflights and aluminium bifold doors flood the space with natural light and connect the interior seamlessly to the garden.

Planetium managed the project from structural works through to final finishes, delivering a high-quality extension that balances period character with modern family living.
