Hagen Café, West London — Full Renovation & Fit-Out
Planetium delivered a complete strip-out and fit-out for Hagen, a café in West London, transforming the space into a warm, minimalist interior built around natural materials, bespoke joinery, and considered mechanical detailing.
The scope covered full mechanical, electrical and HVAC installation from first fix through to commissioning — a new ventilation and air handling system with diffusers and grilles integrated discreetly into the ceiling, exposed feature ductwork left visible and finished to match the surrounding plasterwork, a complete rewire with recessed and pendant lighting circuits, dedicated power and data to the counter and back-of-house equipment, a fully integrated ceiling-mounted sound system for ambient in-house audio, and emergency lighting to meet commercial compliance.
Walls and ceilings were finished throughout in hand-applied natural clay plaster in soft terracotta and sand tones, giving the space a tactile, breathable, non-uniform surface that anchors the warm palette from floor to ceiling.
Bespoke joinery runs through every touchpoint of the design: a purpose-built service counter finished to coordinate with the plaster and furniture tones, custom café tables with stone-effect tops on solid turned cone bases, and bespoke wall panelling — including the textured arch feature panels and curved upholstered banquette seating with bolster detailing along the main wall.
The fit-out is completed with cognac leather bucket chairs on black metal frames, layered pendant lighting dropped at varying heights over each table, sculptural eclipse wall sconces, and a backlit circular “Hagen” logo sign as the space’s branding centrepiece. Full-height glazing and folding doors connect the interior through to a matching outdoor terrace, extending the material and furniture palette seamlessly outside.
