Camen Town – Lower Ground Floor Rear Extension

This lower ground floor rear extension to a Victorian terraced house in Camden Town was delivered by Planetium Construction as Principal Contractor, working closely with the project architect from inception through to completion. The project involved extensive structural works, including new foundations, structural steel beams and a new flat roof incorporating large skylights to maximise natural daylight. Reclaimed London stock brickwork was carefully integrated and left exposed internally and externally, celebrating the building’s original character while introducing a contemporary architectural aesthetic. Two bespoke Crittall-style glazed door systems seamlessly connect the interior with the landscaped garden, creating a light-filled open-plan living environment. The scope also included drainage diversions, complete upgrades to the electrical and plumbing services, underfloor heating throughout, a fully renovated bathroom, a contemporary kitchen with bespoke shelving and joinery, and carefully designed landscaping to complete the transformation. The result is a refined, highly functional extension that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern architecture and exceptional attention to detail.
